Design Diversion
I’m taking a little diversion today from the kind of posts I normally do.
The reason: I found a list of travel guidelines in an old journal not too long ago and have been thinking about them ever since.
The journal contained scribbled notes from a trip to Chile with my son and a lovely excursion to Paris and the Almalfi Coast of Italy with my husband and friends. While I enjoyed browsing and remembering both experiences, what intrigued me was the little list I had copied into the front cover.
The list is labeled, “Guidelines for Happy Traveling.”
As I look at this list, I think: “Wow. These are good guidelines for life.” So I invite you to read and comment. Please share your thoughts and experiences.
1. Avoid the beaten path.
2. See humor in frustrations.
3. Find graceful solutions to messes.
4. Look for commonalities.
5. Remain calm and centered.
6. Throw baggage overboard.
7. Learn to travel light physically and emotionally.

Oct 27, 2009I agree that these are great guidelines for life as well. My sister would agree too; she is always telling me not to sweat the small stuff because she thinks I sometimes dwell on unimportant matters.
