Ok, so, this is it. The last post (of five) on Barcelona. I am focusing this post on the delightful food presentations at the market and a couple of restaurants we ate in during our week in this glorious Spanish city.
We didn’t eat in any really fancy places. Having just spent ten days with our foodie friends in Italy, we were both feeling the need for a tiny tad of restraint. Having said that, I will say, we ate marvelously.
The folks in Barcelona love food. They prepare fresh fruits, vegetables and fish especially well. The tapas, whether authentic or new concoctions designed to appeal to tourists, are delicious. And best of all we loved going to the markets to see how the residents shop. Colorful. Fresh. Mouthwatering.
This is a charming restaurant in the old part of the city.
I’d go back to this one. If I could find it.
A very modern looking restaurant in a very old building near the Picasso Museum. Enjoyed paella here.
Every neighborhood has its own market. This is the main one near La Rambla. Photos that follow are from this huge hall of enticingly presented good stuff to eat.
The photo that follows is from a street market near our hotel.
This is everyday shopping in Barcelona.
Funny moment: watching our waiter multi-tasking at an outdoor cafe.
Looks like a kitchen crew getting their photo taken. Happy Bunch, huh? You would be too if you lived in Barcelona.

Just got back from Barcelona. I stayed at Fira Onyx aswell as a hotell near Las Ramblas. Kind of loved Barcelona. Tried the Barcelona busses that went around three areas of Barcelona and got too see Las Ramblas.
Susan, the wondrous colors in ALL your Barcelona photos look too good to be true….(OK, are you SURE they aren’t enhanced?) Seriously, great job…and thanks for taking me back to that most enchanting city!
