Chicago is one of those cities I can return to again and again. And do. Always something new. Always something interesting. High Energy. Scenes of the lake. Activity Galore.
A recent trip was no disappointment. Fun and lively from start to finish. Here’s some snippets of what I saw and did.
First, take a look at the lobby of this hotel–the Langham Hotel. Built in a Ludwig Mies van der Rohe classic, it dazzles and delights. I love the multi glass sculptures hanging from the ceiling. Some seemed to swirl and sway. We were told “ghosts” were in residence and making their presence known.
Don’t you just love this car parked outside the hotel? At first I thought that it might be in honor of Breast Cancer month. But, no, the Langham’s signature color is pink. It hangs out here year round.
No trip to Chicago is complete with out a little retail therapy. I loved the vibrant color of this coat in Nordstroms, contemplated purchasing an American Girl doll for a special young lady in my life and discovered a new retail venture–shirts designed to hang out. Great idea guys.
We happened to be in the Windy City the weekend of the World Series. Go Cubs. Lots of fans and signs of support every where.
We were fortunate to have snagged tickets for Hamilton. Great performance. Worth it. Word to the wise: bone up on the story before hand. The pace is fast and fun. You’ll enjoy it more if you know what is going on. And you’ll be humming the tunes for days to come.
These locks made me smile. I’ve seen them in Cinque Terre, Paris and Rome. People attach a lock to a bridge, profess their love and throw away the key. Looks like the trend is starting in Chi-town for those so romantically inclined.
I never tire of looking at Table Top displays. Ideal decor for upcoming holidays is such fun to dream about. Reality will probably be different but fun to see.
I never tire of scenes of the city especially when the light shines low and slanted. Here’s a few images that caught my camera lens.

Nov 6, 2016Thanks Margaret, I love the idea of the Langham ghost moving the glass pieces. That building has a lot of history so could be true.

Nov 7, 2016Your wonderful zoomed in photo of the multi glass sculptures makes them look delicious, almost as if they could be sipped.

Nov 7, 2016Thanks for the comment, Peggy. I loved the glass sculptures in the Langham. They serve a high tea there in the afternoons with harpist on the weekend. It’s on my list to do the next trip to Chicago. I’ll be looking up at the ceiling. The sculptures are beautiful.
