Interestingly one of my good friends and fellow blogger, Peggy DePersia and I both visited Seattle within a couple of months of each other. Like me, she loved the city and happily she wanted to do a couple blog posts for DesignDestinations about Seattle. Perhaps you have seen them. I hope so.
I found it quite interesting how different our interests were. Other than we both loved the Chilhuly Museum, our points of attraction were different. Even when we we both loved the same place—our photos and comments are inside and out. Take the Seattle Public Library. She loved the exterior, walking around it several times while I was drawn to a lime green escalator system and red area. I have posted hers already. Here are mine.

It would be fun to see what drew your attention.
I was quite intrigued with an art installation on one of escalators in the Rem Koolhaas building. Spooky and eerie. Changing as you ride down the stairs. Both Peggy and I both agreed that the building is a work of art well worth visiting.
I also got a kick out of the video screens above the information desks showing what was being checked out real time.
We both visited the Chilhuly Museum and the nearby Frank Gehry building.
We rented an apartment through VRBO right on the waterfront. The Ferris Wheel out our window was constantly fascinating to me. Here are some images I captured over the four days we stayed there.
Couldn’t resist going for a ride on the Ferris Wheel on a sunny blue sky day with the view of the Puget Sound and mountains beyond to the West and the charming city to the East.
Come back next week for more about Seattle. I’ll include Pikes Market, the Underground Tour, the SAM and some scenes from New Year’s Eve at the Space Needle like the one below.

Mar 2, 2018Thanks, Marie, I really enjoyed our four days in Seattle. My daughter-in-law grew up there. It was wonderful to visit her home city.
